I would love to push this one, so I'm giving it another comment. It's the only missing piece being able to use it for our hole company. Our staff loves it! We're strongly using it for proposals, for what it's perfect with it's catalog items and the easy client database. Since we're a company building where as possible on open source and self hosted solutions because of privacy concerns (and for my understanding this is also a flag Cakedesk is waving) a solution which allows to run Cakedesk or it's library/database on a own cloud would be gorgeous! We are already thinking about using a VPN to connect to a central machine to work with Cakedesk, what would be the last option keeping my staff from switching to DATEV or other s***... Thanks for your great work Max, keep it on! <3

Tim Tation Thanks so much for the super encouraging feedback! Cloud Sync is super high on the requested feature list, so I might need to start working on this soon!
I do really like the self-hosted philosophy. For cloud features though, I'm currently leaning towards building that on Cakedesk's own servers, rather than making it a self-hosted thing.
The main reason is for ease of use for users but also ease of maintenance for me.
Would that still be interesting to you?

Max Happy to hear my feedback is helpful and I totally understand your tendency. What should I say: Better a Max hostet solution than no cloud solution at all! BUT IF you ask me, it must be a transparent and DSGVO compliant solution made in Germany! Would that solution come with an additional subscription (don't like)? With the self hosting option you would stand out and make a BIG contribution to the Self Hosting Community, I don't know any good accounting tools offering something like that!

Tim Tation If I end up building a "Max hosted solution" for Cakedesk's Cloud Sync, then there would probably be a subscription fee, due to the needs for ongoing maintenance and server costs.
Right now, I see 3 possible solutions:
- Cloud Sync via Cakedesk servers: Easiest for user, also gives the option of running cloud services (e.g. automatically sending out invoices at a certain date without having to have Cakedesk open)
- Cloud Sync via network drive / Dropbox / Google Drive: Slightly more complicated for user, no cloud services possible
- Cloud Sync via self-hosted servers: Hardest for users, cloud services possible, real self-hosting option
Any approach would need to be DSGBO compliant, I agree.
If the Cloud Sync would happen via Cakedesk Servers, it would be an optional feature and Cakedesk's core functionality would remain subscription-free.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts further on this as always :)

That would be huge, a game changer for Cakedesk! I really hope this will be implemented soon and that it will also follow Cakedesk's user orientated data protection policy, with the option to create your own database or use your own cloud sync!

Wir würden das Tool auch gerne zu zweit an zwei Arbeitsplätzen nutzen, also mit je einer Lizenz, aber auf nur einen Datensatz zu Kunden, Angeboten und Rechnungen zugreifen bzw. verwalten ツ

Problematisch bei gleichzeitiger Nutzung an mehreren Maschinen.
Besser wäre wahrscheinlich eine SQL-Datenbank (mysql oä.) im Intranet oder REST-API Datenbank im Internet.
